Four boys rush out in front of the bus. They are going to the village of Davies Gray to look for a luminous stone statue. Kakeru and the others join them. They come to the cave of the statue, but because of a landslide they are forced to leave the cave separately.

1Departing for Far, Far Away1989-04-0725 minOne day during the summer vacation, Kakeru saves a weakening blue pony on his way to visit his father. This creature is actually a mystery animal called a "thunder beast." It says, "Thank you, my name is Blink. Please call my name when you have a problem!" This is their encounter and the beginning of a big adventure for Kakeru.2The Secret of Gray Ranch1989-04-1425 minA mysterious group abducts Kakeru`s father, so Kakeru and Blink set out on a journey to find him. Then they see a girl surrounded by people in "Gray Town," and save her. Her name is Nelly and her father is a rich farmer who is selling expensive meat to the people in the town. Kakeru and Blink head for the Grey Farm to find a clue to the whereabouts of his missing father.3The Prisoner at Rose House1989-04-2125 minKakeru and Blink save the injured Prince Sharaku. Then the prince tells them that he has experienced a narrow escape from Rose Mansion after failing a quiz there. They say that a pretty but spoiled princess called Kirara lives in Rose Mansion, and that she has declared that she will marry whoever can answer a seven-point quiz about the mansion...4The Crooked Ivory Castle1989-04-2825 minSomehow, Princess Kirara ends up traveling with Kakeru and Blink, but they become tired of taking care of such a spoiled princess. On their way to the next country, they see a truck being chased by a patrol car and get to know a boy called Toby. They hear a rumor that Kakeru`s father may be confined in the high tower in Ivory Town.5The Monster Dogitra of Yellow Fort1989-05-0525 minKakeru`s journey to find his father continues. They arrive at Yellow Town, which is governed by Princess Kirara`s uncle. Once a beautiful country, it now lays completely in ruins. Kakeru learns from the townspeople that his father has been taken to Yellow Fortress. When Kakeru arrives at the fortress, its owner, the Duke of Yellow Stone, promises to give his father back if Kakeru kills the monster Dogizura that lives on the ground that was once a mine. However...6The Mysterious Fruit of Blue Town1989-05-1925 minDuring their journey, the stubborn Princess Kirara demands a strange fruit that she sees growing on a tree, going against the will of the other people. When Nitch and Satch obey her order and pick the fruit from the tree, a child jumps out of the fruit. The child has the mysterious power to make everybody feel at ease. Kakeru and the others are suddenly freed from their desperate need to find his father...7Crash! The Moss-Green Road Race!1989-05-2625 minThe Baron Moss Green`s estate is jammed with cars that are going to participate in the great annual motorcar race. It is said that the baron will grant any wish that the winner might have....8The Island of Temptation, Cobalt1989-06-0925 minAll wishes are granted on the dreamlike Cobalt Island. Nitch and Satch get very rich, and Kirara gets a gorgeous dress there. Then Kakeru finally finds his father. Overjoyed, Kakeru follows his father, Haruhiko, only to discover the terrible secret that this island harbors....9The Fighting Nation, Red Baal1989-06-1625 minRed ball, Desert Country. Power means everything here. Kakeru meets a boy named Chippi and learns that Chippi was abandoned by his father, Red the 3rd, just because the father thought he was a sissy...10The Mysterious Forest, Sepia1989-06-2325 minKakeru`s party runs into a pretty girl named Poron. She is on her way to get a "life-saving mushroom" from the Sepia forest in order to cure her mother`s disease. Then Kakeru is told that his father Haruhiko had also been taken to the same forest. So they venture deep into the wood...11Terrace, the Town of Primary Colors1989-06-3025 minA mechanical hill myna suddenly appears before Kakeru`s party and takes them to Terrace town. There are red, blue, and yellow suns there, and everybody is very kind and nice. The people, however, suddenly become suspicious and violent. This probably has something to do with the suns...12The Heart-Thief of Purple Town1989-07-0725 minKakeru`s party arrives in Amber Town, said to be a town of villains, but it turns out to be a beautiful place inhabited by good people. The town`s name has actually been changed to "Purple Town," and Kusuneru, who had once been regarded master of thieves, is now a gentle old man. What has happened to all the villains?13The Armored Gun-Train of Brown Town1989-07-1425 minKakeru`s party arrives in Brown Town in search of his father. This once lively town is dead silent now. It is said that the town is going to be presented to the niece of Emperor Gross, so the townspeople have been sent away to build a castle and trains as part of the present. Kakeru and the others learn that many people here are forced to work for the princess...14Children’s Town, Rainbow Town1989-07-2125 minIn Rainbow Town, a town of children, even the president and teachers are all children. School is a place for play. All the food tastes sweet. The town is full of playgrounds. It is literally a paradise for children. But for adults, it is a hellish place....15The Light Ark of Gold Valley1989-07-2825 minRobert, an adventurer, is looking for the legendary "luminous ship." When Kakeru and the others come upon Robert, he tells them of a certain legend. Long ago, a young man, whose lover had been taken away on a dark ship, went to save her in a luminous one. Only the luminous ship can find the dark one on the dark river. And now, Emperor Gross has the dark ship, and he is going to force Kakeru`s father Haruhiko on board!16The Town of Fortune-Telling: Mint Green1989-08-0925 minKakeru`s party comes to a town of fortune-telling, Mint Green. Kakeru asks some fortune-tellers about his father`s whereabouts, but nobody tells him anything. Emperor Gross has already used his influence on the town. Taking the boy Garoto`s advice, Kakeru decides to visit the great astrologer of the Mint Valley.17Milky White: The Secret of the Temple in the Air1989-08-2525 min"The dark ship will appear on a full-moon night," a fortune-teller tells Kakeru. So they come to Milky White. Because Nitch and Satch have stolen the "floating sand" from the temple in the air, all of them are ordered to work in the temple...18Will It Bloom?: The Flower of Dark in Emerald Forest1989-09-0125 minKakeru and the others come to Emerald Town in search of his father Haruhiko, who had been sent down the dark river. This town is filled with flowers. "If you look for the seeds of the flower of darkness, you will reach the dark river," says a girl named Fula, who becomes friends with Kakeru. So they head for Emerald Forest.19To the Dark River! The Mysterious Ultra-Marine Plain!!1989-09-0825 minKakeru and the others look for the Ultra-marine Plain. It is said that the tapir of the dark that lives there will lead them to the dark river. The plain, however, moves away every time they approach to it. Here, Kakeru meets a hunter called Pazu who tells him that his son had died "because the tapir of the dark had eaten his good dreams."20Animal Paradise: Harpy Green1989-09-1525 minWhen Kakeru`s party reaches the edge of Harpy Town, a cute animal called Tiki-Tiki rushes out in front of their bus. Kakeru saves Tiki-Tiki`s life. Then some fans of Tiki-tiki appear, and Kakeru is going to receive a commendation...21Yellow Oaker: The Town With No Greenery or Flowers1989-09-2325 minKakeru and others meet Yozakku during their journey. He is a plant doctor who takes care of withering flowers and trees. They begin helping the doctor and head for the town Yellow Oaker, where plants have been withered for more than six months.22The Plane of Love! Fly in the Persian Blue!!1989-10-0625 minEmperor Gross` prison, from which no one can escape, is in the Blue City of Persia. Kakeru thinks that his father might be there, and goes to the entrance of the city...23The Legend of Davies Gray! Blink Turns into a Fossil!!1989-10-1325 minFour boys rush out in front of the bus. They come to the cave of the statue, but because of a landslide they are forced to leave the cave separately.24Submarine City: The Mermaid Princess of Pearl Muu1989-10-2025 minKakeru`s party arrives at Pearl Muu bus stop on the beach. According to legend, there was an island called Pearl Muu here long ago. The island sank into the sea because of a big earthquake, but people on the island built a submarine city and still live there. When Kakeru and Blink approach the sea, one of Gross`s men Dasaro suddenly fires a gun at them.25Blink Disappears in Opera Town1989-10-2725 minSuddenly a tiger comes onto the bus and everyone panics. Then Black, the leader of Black Circus, appears. He has the power to handle animals easily. The tiger is part of the circus. Black apologizes to Tanba, then strokes Blink`s head and leaves the bus. That night, Blink disappears. Black has cast a spell on Blink.26Revive! The Hotaru Butterflies of Scarlet River1989-11-0325 minA strange butterfly flies into the bus. It is a "Hotaru" butterfly, depicted in Haruhiko`s books for children. Kakeru and Blink follow the butterfly to get a clue as to his father`s whereabouts, but end up in a strange place. Here they find Emperor Gross`s villa, and an ex-entomologist called Nana who is planning to use Hotaru butterflies to take revenge on Emperor Gross.27Mystery! The Castle of Adventures, Indigo1989-11-1025 minA mysterious black knight kidnaps Princess Kirara. Kakeru and the others follow them and arrive at an old castle. There is only a wall painting of Don Quixote inside the castle. Kakeru and the others enter the world of the wall painting, and hear an announcement that whoever wins the duel with the black knight wins the Princess Kirara.28Love Again! Fierce Fight in the Wine Red Sea1989-11-1725 minEmperor Gross puts Kakeru and the others on the wanted list, so they run away to a town called "Wine Red." The lord of the town, Baron Pasteur, invites Kakeru and the others to his palace. When he sees the little whale that Princess Kirara had found in the sea, however, his face changes color...29Enemy or Friend? The Detective of Orange Stone1989-12-0125 minKakeru and the others help a detective called Frisbee. He tells Kakeru that his father will appear in a place called "Orange Stone." However, Frisbee is an impersonator manipulated by Emperor Gross`s men. He impersonates Kakeru`s fellows in Orange Stone and creates friction among them by abusing everyone. Kakeru loses his fellows` support.30Find the Key of Truth! The Remains of Dark Purple Lake1989-12-0825 minThey learn that Kakeru`s father is being held in the Dark Castle, but they do not know how to get there. Luckily, they meet the adventurer Robert again, and obtain a clue to the way to the castle. "The key of truth" in the remains of Dark Purple Lake will lead them to the road to the castle.31Gold Amber Valley1989-12-1525 minKakeru and the others obtain "the key of truth" and head for Gold Amber Valley. On their way, however, Nitch and Satch break the key. They ask the alchemist called Mahamaha to repair it, but Mahamaha steals the key from them.32The Upside Down City, Sky Blue1990-01-1925 minThe people of Sky Blue City worship Emperor Gross as a hero, and fear Kakeru`s father as a terrible villain. So Kakeru and his fellows are arrested here. Only Princess Kirara is treated well by the lord of the city, Prince Karara, who is her cousin. When Kakeru and the others escape from jail, they decide to leave Kirara in the castle for her own happiness...33Meeting Again! Mother and Child in the Dark Jail1990-02-0225 minKakeru and others are heading for the Dark Castle on a bus. Suddenly a strange sphere swallows them. It is the "Dark Jail" where people against Emperor Gross are confined. There, they meet an alchemist called Rinjida who has made a machine to break the walls. But the machine needs an extraordinary amount of energy to run.34Lonely Kakeru! The Nightmare of the Dark Sea!!1990-02-0925 minThe Dark Castle is beyond the Dark Sea. Kakeru and his friends get on a golden boat steered by a ferryman. Then a mysterious fog engulfs the boat on the sea, and they find themselves in a gorgeous city. Suddenly Tanba and the others begin to attack Kakeru.35The Strongest Soldier: Black Warrior1990-02-1625 minKakeru and his friends walk through the desert and finally reach a big gate. Suddenly Kakeru hears his dear father`s voice... No sooner had Kakeru felt great happiness in seeing his father again than a black knight appears after Haruhiko.36To the Dark Castle! Face Up with Courage1990-02-2325 minKakeru and his friends reach the Dark Castle. They go inside in high spirits, but find themselves showered with various deadly attacks by Prince Horo. There is a room that spews out fluid that dissolves anything, a maze that leads to bottomless darkness, and a door leading to eternal darkness... What`s more, Kirara seems to be on Prince Horo`s side.37Prince Horo: The Bronze Trap1990-03-0225 minKakeru`s friends are captured. Blink tries to save them with his electric shock, but he gets all his energy taken away instead. Finally, Blink is also captured!38Gross Castle in Light and Darkness1990-03-0925 minKakeru and his friends fall into Emperor Gross` clutches. A staircase turns into a huge snake, and Gross`s men, whom Kakeru had defeated, become zombies and attack Kakeru and his friends. Haruhiko is watching from the jail in growing frustration because he can do nothing.39Goodbye to the Endless Journey and Blink1990-03-1625 minEmperor Gross is actually Kakeru`s father Haruhiko. Gross was born from Haruhiko`s evil mind. Kakeru becomes upset and very depressed. His friends tell him to consider his father`s feelings, and leave on a bus. The journey to look for his father ends. This also means the end of their adventures, and time to say goodbye to Blink.
